2007 AURA XR
Dizzy Design Flaw? Or Feature?

I had my battery go TOTALLY dead today (A less than year old DieHard Platinum) and discovered some inconveniences in the design of our car when that happens.

1) With only one key lock on the car, the only door you can open when there is no power is the driver's door.

2) You can't open the trunk. With a dead battery, the remote and the button on the driver's door don't work.

I ended up having to climb over the front seats, into the back seat, unlock the back door (because the lock is at the back of the door, instead of the front), get out, then release the fold down seat back and climb into the trunk to retrieve my jumper cables, which I keep behind one of the side nets.

You know, I'm not surprised at this at all after discovering the hard way that you have to remove the whole front bumper to replace a headlight bulb.

Yea the fact the lock for the back doors is all the way on the other end of the door so you cannot reach around to unlock is one of the things I hate with a passion about this car.

Shows which ever design team in charge of designing this and the malibu must have been passing around the crack pipe when they were designing them

Another great feature is trapping the blower motor inside the HVAC box such that it has to be cut out to replace it. That & leaving out the cabin filter. It's basic bean counting 101.

Attention Re: Design Flaw? Or Feature?

I am tall, and holding the steering wheel is difficult.
The arm rest is too low, and the steering wheel is too far from my hand.
Also, the height adjustable seat is not adjustable enough as I often can not see what color is the traffic light and ask my wife to tell me when it changes.

A long long road away from the s Series. That's just sad. There's no attention paid to simplicity or ease of maintenance with new cars ?

I think you have to remove the inner wheel fender splash shield on Dodge Avenger and Chrysler Sebring/200 to get to the batteries. I thought engineers were supposed to know better...

Please tell me this isn't true.

My son just bought me some HID's for Christmas...

The headlight just pops out on the G6. Yeah I replaced the high beams myself with 2 other people carefully taking the fascia off not scratching it. It's total BS, but hey who looks at a car and makes a buying decision over how easy it is to replace the head light
