RIP Oldnuc, like many of you, he helped me many times. I always wondered why he had such a different username on here. See screenshot attached. This explains , seems Saturn's was not his primary occupation. Smart man, RIP

Although I didn't know him personally, his posts helped me out a lot with my Saturn. He was always knowledgeable and polite when he spoke. The forum will definitely be at a loss without him. RIP Rich.

Very sad. I signed into this page just this morning because I wanted to see in the other post about him if anyone had heard anything new...

End of an era. He definitely kept many Saturns on the road far longer than what would have been, simply through the vast knowledge he brought to this site.

Dear, Rich thank you for being connected to the saturnfans community. myself as a FIRE movement millennial I had read many forum posts with solid advice written by you Oldnuc- as you provided valuable insight to common failures with Saturns vehicles, I know I've saved myself money being a saturn owner & saved on self diagnois thanks to your knowledge that you were able to pass on towards this community. I am sadden to hear of your passing due to stage 4 cancer. God bless you RICH you will be missed.

well, ****

RIP, OldNuc. He was a major influence in turning me into a committed saturnfan. Very patient with n00bs and spent a lot of time helping folks, both on the forums and PMs.

Guys, get your prostate checked regularly. undignified as hell, but prostate cancer is one of the most common in men (after skin cancer), much more treatable in early stages and is generally slow-growing.

Nuke engineer while in the navy, consulting was something like "systems failure engineer" (not sure if there is an official name) - when something broke, he analyzed and figured out what it was and how to prevent it. Ton of knowledge covering numerous areas/specializations (chem, electrical, aerospace/aviation, etc.) Didn't want to say while he was with us because wasn't my place to reveal things about others.

The "where is OldNuc" thread was started in April, last post in June. So, I'd like to think that he read the thread and it bought a smile to his face.

RIP OldNuc. Your knowledge definitely helped me keep my SL on the road going on 7 years now.

Meanwhile, a relative asks why I'm still driving that "old car" while they are now on their third Range Rover in that span (accident, transmission killed the previous two).

Wow, that's so sad to hear. Oldnuc was, by far, one of the most helpful on these forums. Especially around these later years when a lot of the really knowledgeable folks either left the forum or just didn't login that often.

Hopefully, these forums are archived for a long time so his knowledge can continue to help Saturn owners for years to come. It just goes to show you that kindness and helping others goes such a long way. He'll be remembered for a very long time.

Perhaps the most helpful of those who've helped me here over the years. I appreciated his kindness. I hope his family/friends, outside of the forums, see this thread and how selfless he was with his time here.

Took the wind right our of me when I read this. Seems like I "knew" him for so many years. Kinda like losing a member of the family.

We messaged quite a few times, over the years, and he always had good advice pertaining to whatever Saturn issue I was facing at the time.

R.I.P. OldNuc ...you and your contributions to the forum not be forgotten.
