2006 VUE 3.5L
Default Looking for REDLINE parts

I am working with Vince at Trifecta Tuning on hacking the 3.5 ECM for tuning. I need to send him an ECM so he can try to get into it for tuning purposes. This might be a great time for me to upgrade my base ECM as well while he tries to get into it.

I am looking for an 06 AWD Redline ECM (120 speedlimiter) and of course RL springs for my base 3.5 as well.

Please PM privately or let me know if you have seen any at any salvage yards that I can contact.

Thanks!

What are your intentions?

Any retuning for more power would most likely result in lower fuel economy.

Do you want to find out at what speed the polymer panels rip off your VUE?

I don't have alot of faith in the poly panels over 100 so I 'll stick to local tracks. I want to feel the 3rd gear VTEC and the base ECM just doesn't want to play.

Intention List:

1. 1st gear VTEC
2. Extended RPM limits (6800)
3. Extended Shift points (6700 in all gears)
4. Timing control (advance)
5. AF control
6. VTEC control for movement if dyno proves more HP at lower engagement
7. Eliminate Speed Limiter (not that its an issue) but I hate the 95 mph lay down and 100 limiter when dusting Range Rovers...
8. Tuning to maximize for Cat deletes, 08+ TL-S cams and ported intake manifold

Most stock motors run rich. A stock AF ratio at WOT will be usually around 10s and perhaps 11s. Tuning for power leans the motor to AF12s high 13s in some cases depending (NA cars) and bumping the base timing and timing advance through the rpms. Knock threshold and then back a touch. Gas mileage actually goes up AND so does POWER- important to do this with a wideband and on a dyno. All the subaru's I tuned on a Cobb AP and the GM products on HPTuners actually picked up a few MPG driven honestly under the same circumstances.

Hondas love tuning and the free software like (CROME, Neptune or Uberdata) makes me sick to not have any of my old swapped civics and integras still around, its so easy to tune OBDI hondas it makes me want another but its hard to sell a 6 foot tall wife on getting in and out of those.

That's why I am doing it- for the benefit of all here. I hope to have someone crack the ECU/ECM. That alone will REALLY wake these engines up. Seems GM really dumbed them down when they went in the VUE. Along with the TL-S cams and I am workng with Richie Wong on V6performance to get a good Cat Delete mod size for our engines to bolt to the factory J-pipe (which appears to be manufactured very well).

The last step is I get to play with an Extrude Hone Machine so I will be porting out the intake manifold as well. God willing this will all come together and I can report back with positive outcomes.

Hey GTP, I have a set of stock Redline springs off of an 04 with about 5,000 miles on them. I found them in the Eibach box last week while cleaning out my basement. What are they worth to you? I live about an hour and a half from you and could meet you in the Burgh if it is worth my time.

I replied to your PM GTP. That will work. You won't be able to see my VUE because I got rid of it. I now drive this 06 Ram.

BTW, I have a set of black corners and tail light covers if anyone is interested.
$30 plus shipping for the corners. I'll throw the tail covers in for free since they have some scratches on them.

One other addition I would like to see is change the gear from 3rd to 4th when running in 'I'. I think it would be better suited for towing. 3rd gear rev's way to high at 60 MPH when towing IMO!

Certainly an issue worth looking at but I do think that would be in the TCM rather than the ECM. I'll have Vince look.

From what I understand, Vince still needs an ECU, Redline or V6. Anyone got a spare or know of a junkyard with one that works still?
