A leak in the exhaust manifolds, exhaust flex hose or even the ERG line can cause noise too. But, I bet you know those sounds with your eyes shut!

Yes I'm positive. Old school dowel put to ear trick to find where the noise is coming from. Unfortunately the car will never be around me again. I get it running right and reliable wnd that lady ghosted me. Not gonna get too much into personal life, but based off this thread Im sure anyone reading can tell Im a thinker with a lot of tricks. My email is Hellpoolhall@gmail.com if anyone ever wants to ask a question about anything they're working on. Ive done 2 stroke engines all the way to heavy equipment and even the Acert C15 in the 18 wheeler I own. I'd be more than happy to discuss anything I might could help with.

Not to be out of bounds, but perhaps you spent too much time under the Saturn's hood and not enough under her hood.

She will never know how generous you are. Her loss!

Perhaps you should create a YT channel and document some of these wicked mechanical skills! I'm serious!

Not overstepping bounds. Lol. Its a complicated scenario with a history prior to this. A forum is not a place to discuss such things.

Im not much of a filmer. So YouTube is out. I own a trucking company and that takes up enough time as it is lol.

Also, Im in the Jonesboro AR area. Anyone close (within say 600 miles) Id be happy to swing by for a few hours to lend a hand or go through my ways of diagnosis. Just shoot me an email.

That is a very generous offer to anyone within 600 miles! I suspect you don't have to deal with the Rust Demons like we do in Wisconsin! There is Not one 2000 subframe in Wisconsin other than the one I bought and installed from TX.

Now that you got introduced, I suggest you get a Saturn for yourself! She won't bolt nor will she let you down. She might squawk and buck a bit, but all and all they are fun rides and reward you with responsive giddy up!

Take care and thanks for contributing to this forum!

I raced a 1900 Manta back in the 70s and that was the first engine I encountered with b@stard head bolts. They were similar to today's Torx and I had to pay a king's ransom to the SnapOn guy to get a socket.
