It is intimidating because its a pain in the rss! Getting at the QPaks is not nearly as painful as getting to the valve covers which requires you remove front and back motor lift mounts. There is no room to get a wrench on the bolts and less room to see what you are doing. Then there is the EGR valve removal... You are right the front plugs are easy. Stay intimidated on the rear plugs and the valve cover gaskets because they are all of that and then some!

Well cant say that's what I wanted to hear but kind of what I assumed. I've decided this will be my project car to attempt most fixes on. I've always had a decent amount of knowledge but have never really put it to practice. So have you ever done it before? I'm just crossing my fingers that the wells wont be full of oil back there.

I have done it 4 times and now I could do it in my sleep. Read my I blew it up summary where I describe the entire process and all the headaches along the way.

When you do the motor mounts do not use a breaker bar to tighten them.

Tbrandon,

If you get yourself a good pry bar; you can easily remove the rear intake ("engine stuff"); just label it and push it aside. You do not have to remove the upper intake to get to those rear plugs.

You can take the pry bar and pry the rear intake manifold to "flip" backwards... allowing full access to the Coil Packs and Spark Plugs.

I wouldn't be too concerned; just label and don't break anything. You will need specialized tools (E8 + E10) sockets and a Spark Plug T Wrench (However you probably know that). And a flat head screw driver and you should be set!

Best Regards,

Brandon
