I've never had an aluminum wheel glue itself to a brake drum and hub with rust! I've had several steel wheels that did that and had to be removed with 15 minutes of whacking on with a sledge hammer. I always paint anti-seize on the back of the wheel, hub, and brake drum face. I have no idea why Saturn is worse this way than most cars. Perhaps a tighter fit at the hub.

Every time I remove one of the plastic hub caps on my steel wheels, I'm amazed they haven't fallen off and gotten lost at some point during the past 24 years.

I have seen the center of wheel hubs on aluminum rims that have crumbled away due to electrolytic action - making the hole oversized. You never see that with steel...

My kid lost one. Jury is out if it was due to his driving style or somebody at Walmart needed one. But yeah, I agree!
