2008 Astra XE
Default Power Outlet Cover Flap

Has anyone had any issues with the flap cover on the power outlet breaking? ex: the plastic tab holding the spring broke on mine.

As I bought a low-profile USB 12V adaptor, I might just remove the cover altogether.

I was just wondering if anyone has had to replace this piece and what was involved, ie, replacing entire power outlet or just the flap? Thanks.

Its just the flap. Remove the little tray, disconnect the outlet, and from under side you can remove the clip holding the outlet in place. It pops ou from the top. Then u can remove the flap assembly.

Thanks, I just removed the flap, not the outlet, it seems I could just order the flap and easily replace it myself. The plastic part of the flap where the spring is held to the flap (L-shaped part of spring) is very flimsy and broke off. for now I have removed the flap and have put in a mini dual-USB charger which the flap wouldn't have closed properly over anyways.

That's sweet. I may have to pick one of those up to hard wire into the car. That would be great to put in under the handbrake to charge my phone. It seems like there would be enough space under there for that.

I rarely use the outlet. I wired two additional outlets under my drivers seat. It's a nice place to plug in my GPS and XM radio and tuck all the wiring out of the way.

Mine broke as well, but not the flap. The black portion that the flap snaps onto, well there are two round ends that the cover snaps onto. One side broke off. (I am referring to the outlet by the shifter)

Anyone have that part number and know how much it costs?
