Default Clockspring

I just got a used clockspring off ebay and when I got it the air bag plug was melted. Is that what happens when the air bag goes off ? I'm about half scared to use it. They say it was tested good but that has me puzzled. Any advise here ? I can change out the plug but was there a problem to start with ? Thanks Rick

Yes, the air bag connector melts when the bag fires.

That would be a "Not as Described" auction item and you will be refunded amount paid + shipping under Buyer Protection. There are instructions on ebay fr this. !st thing I would do is contact he seller and give them the WTf? and see if they have another that is actually good. If they are not taped you can ruin one when installing it.

As I suspected. The removal/replace instructions for the roll connector/clockspring are in my photo gallery, recommend locating and reading before installing a new one.

Oldnuc, since I'm on the clockspring subject one question on replacement. Will a 95 clockspring work on a 96 sw ? The only thing I can see that might be different is the ears on the inside. Does anybody know for sure ? The GM number for a 95 series S saturn is 21060292 what is a 96 number, I couldn't find one .

Thanks Rick
