2006 VUE 3.5L
Question New Forum Section for Vue Gen. 2

I wanted to start this discussion before it became too late.

First off, let me say I'm not against the Vue Gen. 2 design, I'm just interested in efficiency of the forum.

Since the new Vue is such a major redesign, shouldn't a new forum section be started for all discussion related to the new Vue based on Opel's design?

This would make it easier to find information and share experiences relative to the correct design generation.

Charlie, if this is already planned, then no further discussion is necessary...

A Mac (apple) forum that I frequent has a work-around for major redesigns of models that share the same name which works pretty well. Rather than opening up whole new area of the forum they give an option that you slect when creating a thread to specify what generation your question about. I.e. there is an iMac section (of which there are 3.5 generations). When you enter that section you will see in bold to the left of the topic title Gen 1 iMac etc. depending on what gen the thread focuses. This seems to work pretty well in keeping the site compact and organized yet allowing a reader to know specifically what type of iMac the questions will be about (for example, since I own a Gen 3 iMac I know to skip Gen 1 iMac technical questions).

You mean Gen 3?

06-07 was gen 2. different design from 02-05.

While I think it might be a good idea, I don't see where it would be that much of a headache for the forum to remain the same. I'm tired of the vti discussions, and was joking with my wife that we need a vti forum, but i didn't suggest it because I don't see it as something I can't live with. The S-series forum isn't divided by gens, I don't think the vue forum should be either.

Everyone just needs to learn that if they are going to ask questions, they need to let us know what year model they are having issues with.

It's a major reskinning, and some more, different engines. It's still a VUE.

Yeah, but it should be called the Antara Forum.

No, it's not (see above comment), it doesn't look anything like the VUE, not even close (bleah).

For the time being, I've created a new forum for the 2008 VUE.
