I agree, it's for the look. I probably would have one by now, but didn't invest in one cuz i was concerned about the possible loss of traction of the front like Low Saturn said; traction is needed in snowy Colorado, not a light car. This is probably the one thing I use to identify the ricers in my town cuz they ALL have them. Plus it is easier on their arms when they are showing off their "gorgeous, colorful" engine.

If I remember right every pound of rotating wheel weight is worth 2.5 pounds of static weight elsewhere in the car. Also it has the added benifit of faster turn in and less harsh ride (if the size of tires is the same.

The sawtooth alloys on a 95 SC2 are actually the lightest stock alloys. THey're about 14 pounds. Check here for some good info.
