New Mobil advice against use of Mobil 1 ATF in place of T-IV ATF
We no longer recommend Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF for application’s calling for Toyota T-IV or JWS 3309. **The recommended product for those applications is Mobil ATF 3309:

Re: New Mobil advice against use of Mobil 1 ATF in place of T-IV ATF
Good to know, thanks for sharing that.
We bought our 2003 VUE v6 AWD brand new, and I have changed the transmission fluid every 20-30,000 miles ONLY with Toyota Brand T-IV fluid. I am fortunate to have a Toyota Dealer about 2 miles away, and a parts guy who lets me flirt with him, and he usually cuts me a deal, lol. I buy 5 quarts at a time, and let the trans fluid drain overnight.
I have heard of people using other brands (Mobil, Amsoil, etc) but honestly, I can usually get the T-IV at the Dealer for about $4-$5 a quart, its the same or cheaper than the other brands.
