2005 VUE 2.2L
2005 Vue rear BRAKE drums, SAn Diego
New condition Centric brake drums , painted( onthe outside) with BBQ paint to prevent rust... No longer needed.
10$ (not shipped)
I think I had these on for two weeks, at most, before putting my other
( new) drums back on. I was tracking down a clicking sound proportional to wheel speed while braking..
I was faced with two new sets of drums that clicked on the driver side New drums are not supposed to have high spots, but that waasn't the issue.
In a dream, my SAturn Guru stated that rough ground surface( on MANY new drums) can sometimes cause a set of shoes to slowly track outward ,only to snap back( the clicking) when reaching the fulll depth of the drum.
What was even more maddening was when I swapped drums , the noise stayed on the driver side. It didn't follow the drum to the other side. So the bad drum was now "good" and the" good" one bad.
Long story short, a second, light hone, should be performed when machining a brake drum.
After my guru properly machined (I was able to watch him through the whole process) what I drove in with, the noise was gone.
