Ok, so when going to the junkyard to get cables, How do I know if they are original genuine Saturn cables or aftermarket junk? Im confused on the nuts/no-nuts ordeal..

My quick rule of thumb, if the cable end that connects to the transmission looks like the center bushing is a separate piece then it is after market. OEM look too solid to remove.
I'll try to post pic of oem later tonight.

Here is what oem tranny side cables look like
in after market it has been my experience that the center bushing in the 2nd pic looks like and can be removed

Default How To: Remove Shifter Cables (Video)

I got it done and it was a real PITA. I never broke the cable but other drivers did:

1st time in 2010 - x-wife was learning to drive manual transmission after we switched cars. I need automatic after I broke my Achilles tendon.

2nd time Jan 2017 - a car friend's small time detailer broke it trying to move my car to the other side of the street!

Here's my video which I relied on many sources including the pictures and step by step earlier in this thread.
