Idle drops very low, surges sometimes
So I was driving my 2002 Saturn SL SOHC today and noticed that after I drove home for lunch that my idle was dropping down lower than normal. It never stalled, but it just didn't seem like the RPM's were where they normally are.
I also noticed that in between shifting gears that the RPM's drop very fast, like down to 500 or 600, and it didn't do that before today. The car still drives just fine like it did before, other than it seems to buck a little bit sometimes when I let the clutch out for the next gear, but I'm very anal about little things like that and just wanted to get the opinions of the more experienced Saturn guys on here.

Re: Idle drops very low, surges sometimes
If the Idle Air Control Valve starts to stick and not open when it should, you will experience an idle in the 400 - 500 rpm range. Clean the throttle body and IACV and see if the issue goes away. If not, the IACV itself may need to be replaced.
