New from Connecticut
i am new here.
i have a 1995 Saturn SL1 with a 5 speed.
i got it for $400 with a smashed fender and rear quarter, tore up interior and no exhaust.
i was given a free parts car so here is what i have now.
1995 Purple and green Saturn SL1 with black, gray and tan interior.
the rockers at each back door have rot on top but not under the car, i treated it so it won't spread for a while.
no rot anywhere on the frame or engine tray.
it is definitely a one of a kind multi color vehicle.
i just changed the oil to valvoline maxlife 10W30 today, it was pouring out blue smoke on the first startup but then no smoke for the rest of the day.
when i got it there was no smoke, i had valvoline conventional 5W 30 oil put in and then it started smoking.
it runs very good and rides good, i keep an eye out and there is never any smoke except the first start of the day and i could kill bugs for 10 city blocks.
Saturn SL1's are very comfortable to me, they are kind of low to the ground but the seats are nice and i like the dash design.
i am going to keep my eyes open for an SC1 or SC2 from the mid to late 90's with a rebuilt engine and no rot, hopefully there is one in existence i will be able to save up for.
