2001 L-Series 2.2L Sedan
Default Where to Find A 2001 L 200 Air Intake

I have a 2001 L 200 and was wondering where to find a cold air intake for it. I would like to get a cone style performance based one but cant seem to find one. Any help is appreciated.

To the best of my knowledge, a CAI does not exist from the aftermarket.

However, all is not lost.

You could probably pick up pieces (straight, curved sections of tubing along with connectors) from 'Spectre' at an autoparts store and build your own. It might be more expensive that way and it may not look as good but it will work.

If you want to go with a more 'stealth/stock' look, you may want to purchase a K+N high flow panel filter and then modify the existing airbox. There are instructions here on how to do it. If you look under the lid of the airbox there is a built in 'restrictor' horn. You can hacksaw that away, along with removing a lower elbow at the bottom of the box.

I can tell you from experience that the Mod works at about 4500rpm and gives the car a little more pull up high. No real change in sound either which is a real plus if your going for stealth.

AIRAID makes "Custom Air Intakes & Components". (I am not allowed to post a link yet, as I don't have the requisite 15 posts yet.)
