Default Sunroof Problem

The sunroof on my 2007 Aura XR works only intermittently. When it does open, it only stays open for a few minutes and then closes on its own. Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this and/or how to fix it? Thanks.

The Pano sunroofs on the Aura/G6 were very problematic and GM dumped them quickly and moved over to the standard sunroof. Looking at this post, one member was having the same issues you mentioned, but I don't see a resolution:

My 07 XR has the Pano too, but I dont have a singly problem, other than having to adjust the panels once, which isnt that hard actually. and made any noise vanish. I wonder if there is something in the swtich or maybe see when you have the glass open and see if something is triggering the close sequence. That would be my best best. So if you can see if there is anything in your switch that would trigger it.

old thread i know but i am having the same issue with my standard sunroof on my 2007 xr-it opens and closes ok, but it will close by itself, expecially when going down a slight incline (like the end of a driveway) and making a left or right turn. It's really weird, doesnt matter if it is all the way open or flipped up, and sometimes it closes in increments, a little at a time. Have replaced the switch with a NOS switch still in the original GM bag), and do not have a wiring diagram. I have checked grounds in the back of the car, they seem to be good using an ohm meter to check them out. Any ideas?
