Default No electrical / power at all

99 Sl manual sohc no ac power steering 230000 miles.

No electrical / no power at all. Nothing in car electrical works at all. With key on or off. Will not start obviously. No headlights, dome lights, nothing.

I have checked the ign fuses and all good. Besides that haven't really checked anything else.

Car was working fine, then went in to start it yesterday. I had power then turned the key, then everything went black. I tried turning the key back and forth a bunch of times but nothing, completely black. There was one time when I turned the key in the 100 times of turning the key back and forth that I had a short 2 seconds of power where the instrument panel lit up, but that was it. Completely black besides that.

Makes me think ignition switch since it seemed to happen as I turned the key.

What should I do? Any suggestions?

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Check/clean cable connections to the battery, both + and - (ground). Follow the ground cable down to where it attaches to the engine, make sure that is tight and cable is intact. Do you have an electrical multimeter?

Ended up being a bad ground connection. Was quick and easy to find once I started looking around.
Thanks for the help. I was stuck on it being the ignition, since it occurred at exactly the same time as turning the key. But just a coincidence I guess.

Ignition switch was extremely unlikely, since components that are not dependent on the ignition switch were affected as well.
