Coolant leak (HELP!)
Hey there. I have a 2000 Saturn SL1 with a cooling system problem. The previous owner really didn't take care of this.
This car is the car that got me into fixing stuff. I've gone through a couple resivoir tanks and this recent older one works.
I have been leaking coolant from the bottom of the radiator (took it to the mechanic who said the previous owner installed this NEW radiator wrong).
They said it will last, but not much longer. The other night when I got off of work (keep in mind I've driven it for weeks with no overheating)
it started to lose coolant FAST. I believe it was coming from the cap because there was air trapped in the system. I've pretty much
replaced most of my cooling system so I know it almost in and out and I'm at a dead end. I've tried burping the air to no avail it just boils
out of the top of the cap. When the thermostat opens, air bubbles don't come up and the fluid level doesn't drop at all. I'm wondering
what this could possibly mean? Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you in advance. Should I replace the radiator? (well I'm planning on that anyways :P).

Re: Coolant leak (HELP!)
What concentration is your antifreeze, 40% water & 60% pure coolant?
Is/was your coolant green or dexcool orange?
Have you replaced the coolant cap?
Has the thermostat been replaced before any trouble, and if so, is it installed correctly, with the spring part headed in toward the engine, cause if reversed, you will boil also.
Silla radiators off Ebay are good to use, and won't hurt your wallet.
