2007 SKY Red Line
Default High Pressue Fuel pump

Hello everyone Iím new to this site and I have a question for all you gearheads. Iím an older man but still have a heavy foot, while in a six grand speed shift a couple weeks ago my High Pressure Fuel Pump let go. When I hit third It started rattling and I had an over 75% loss of power, but was able to limp home on the in tank pump.
My question is : has anyone else had this problem and does anyone have the procedures required in replacing the pump? I plan to install the new pump myself and would like to know if there are any problems I might encounter?
Are there any videos on this subject?
Also, is the stock GM pump the way to go, or is there a better aftermarket pump out there?
GMPartsNow quoted a price of $392.63 , is this a good price?
And what kind of tool is required to remove the high pressure fuel lines? I ask my Mac and Snap-On tool salesman but they were not clear on what it took, again do I need to go to GM for this tool?

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Replace the high pressure line, 17mm crows foot for the high pressure line. release tool for the low pressure. remove the follower from the head to inspect and lube. crank over engine by hand to turn the cam to base between the lobes.
