For some reason it dawned on me to pinch the connections, like the OP said, and they seem to fit. Will install cluster tomorrow and find out.

Well, after I posted that reply I checked the OEM bulb and the 8.4 led and they looked to be the same size

Well, I've got it all put back together, its a bright and beautiful day outside so I can't get pictures of them yet. I'm thinking I should've gotten the higher output leds.

Got some photos before installation. Didn't get any pictures after install for same reasons Kramer listed. Did this yesterday and today it's overcast so I took some pics with the cluster in the car.

My original intentions were to replace the high beam, turn signal, and DRL indicators, along with the background lights. I replaced all of them besides the high beam indicator with a mix of high power LEDS and regular LEDS. The high beam indicator was inaccessible and could not be changed. It's also a different color than the blue LED's that were installed. Hard to see during the day.

Bonus pics, notes and follow up question...

My SL2 is a 5 speed. The shift light on the Vue seems to be not working. Really don't care. Just making note of it.

Thinking of leaving gas cap loose and trying to trigger MIL light. It does light up when I turn the key....

I am going into a former Saturn dealership(now Chevy) and having them enable cruise control at a cost of $100 as soon as I find a nice steering wheel from the JY. Now I'm assuming the service wrench light is on(it's covered with tape). Am I going to have any issue with the light being on and them enabling cruise?

For white face gauges it's '04 to '07 I believe. '08 and '09 are redesigned. '02 and '03 are the same as '00-'02 S-Series.

Little update:

MIL does come on(left gas cap loose).
Low coolant indicator works(changed out broken manifold stem).

Are 3rd gen cluster controlled by the BCM? Is that why you can't swap them into a 2nd gen?
