2005 RELAY-2
Wrench Front Strut replacement, general info

I'm just about finished revamping my wife's 2005 Relay 2, 146k miles. We've replaced pads and rotors on all 4 wheels, replaced rear shocks, new battery, new rear wiper motor, 2 new tires, repaired exhaust leaks, new plugs and wires, transmission flush and filter, serpentine belt and tensioner replaced and lights in the guage cluster... I'm sure I'm forgetting something... Now we are ready for the front struts.

They've been terribly loud for quite awhile now, hoping someone has some first hand experience and could offer tips on replacement process, (socket sizes and such). We've purchased a Monroe quick strut assembly. Does the strut use an 18mm bolt like the rear shocks?

Just to share with you, I prefer to use advance when I order parts. Always online because its cheaper and easier. Plus, websites like shopathome.com give you coupon codes and cash back. I saved $150 on my brakes that way. Partsgeek had my struts cheaper than anywhere else so check them out too.

I can't share links yet, but if you have questions about the stuff I've already done, let me know and I'll do what I can to help you out. I have a few YouTube videos I've posted too.

2005 RELAY-2
Default Re: Front Strut replacement, general info

Well the struts were pretty straight forward. In case anyone cares, the 2 large bolts are 13/16". And the 3 bolts (15mm) in the engine compartment are a real pain... but I got it done.
