2008 Outlook XR
Default Weather Stripping Deteriorating

Hi all. We have a 2008 Outlook and it is a very nice vehicle. Loaded with everything. Noticing that the driver door weather stripping is deteriorating. I mean there are little dots of black all over the place on the outside of the door and we're afraid water will get inside.

Would you think our extended (to 100000mi) warranty will cover this? If not would it be an expensive job to fix? I will will check to see if all the doors are doing the same thing. I've never seen anything like it before!

Thanks!

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

I'm pretty sure the 100K warranty is for power train components only. If by chance you are under the bumper to bumper warranty you may be in luck. If you call the GM dealer and ask they'll let you know if it's under warranty, but I'm guessing not.

Ya I have to agree with you. In looking at it, there are two screws and I am willing to bet a slight pry upward will remove the weather stripping. It is the piece of moulding along the bottom of the window itself. The weather stripping around the door frame where the window seats is just fine...
