On my 96 saturn SL1 it has A/C that works cold still but my Question is
does the A/C under W.O.T or (wide open throttle ) shut off.? then return to cold as You ease back up on the gas to normal.? ... " Any man that doesen"t share his knowledge in cars is wrong to do !"

When my AC still worked I noticed the same thing on my car, so I'm assuming yes. But that's just based on my observations and not anything scientific/known fact.

The AC will shut down at about 90 to 95% throttle and will stay off for about 15 seconds.

Not exactly WOT but after 4-5000 RPM it will, So if you're in the range of racing at WOT it will stay off till you blip off the throttle.

OK.. so the A/C compressor under load shuts off im guessing..? to not
take away horsepower when the engine is under Load at W.O.T ? ... " Any man that doesen"t share his knowledge in cars is wrong to do !"

Wide open throttle = no a/c. Release throttle back to normal driving and it may take up to 15 seconds before a/c resumes cooling. Approximately 7hp is used to drive the a/c compressor. The pcm knows from throttle position sensor feedback to decide when to cut off power to the compressor and when to return a/c function.
... *The CPS is the heart of the entire EFI system. No cps = dead EFI system* *There's more to a/c than just a few cans of refrigerant* *There's more to brakes than just replacing parts*

cars wich makes Perfect sense as far as having it work at a normal Level of operation. as opposed to shutting it off at wide open throttle for more demanding needs. Big Thanks To ALL that posted especially fdryer Thanks.! ![]() ... " Any man that doesen"t share his knowledge in cars is wrong to do !"
