2003 ION-3 Sedan

Guess this is the right place for this
As of this weekend when I go to pick it up I will be inheriting my mothers 2003 Saturn Ion with 75,000 miles. She decided to go for something new and since having to take a new job in a new city I am making an 80 mile commute to work now in a diesel farm truck that is falling apart... a 4 cyl will do me a lot of good. I am not sure which exact model it is/what features it has until I get up there but I will expand out once I know. I am sure the many questions I have will get pointed to other sub forums but I figure this is a good start. What I do know is that it was in a wreck some years ago mostly body damage but all was replaced except they never could get the trunk to seal right and it leaks a bit I am hoping a little weather stripping can fix this. Also the check coolant light comes on randomly which I am assuming is a sensor and am hoping with a little help I can find it and replace it myself. Other than driving it once or twice when I was in town I do not know much about it. Except for the wreck has never had any major repairs or anything fail. I am sure it has had the regular oil changes and tire rotations but I doubt anything more as she would not know what it was to do so it may need other filters and a tuneup. My mother also drives like a saint on Sunday So what should I expect out of a well taken care of 75,000 mile Saturn? What repairs, maintenance, changes etc should I do or expect to do especially if I want to get the most mpg out of it? Anyone know where this coolant sensor is and how hard it is to replace? Other Saturn owners I have known are pleased with them, at best compare the reliability to the likes of the Camry. I have not heard anyone speak bad of them so I have high hopes.

Just got it today. Got it cleaned detailed and waxed. A wire jumper and electric tape fixed the coolant sensor alert for now. It amazes me 30 dollars gets me a full tank of gas which will last me 300+ miles. Far better than the 100 dollars of diesel that would get me 300 miles that I have been paying.
