Water pump leaking

Hi , just noticed that my water pump is leaking so I guess I should do timing belt , tensioner at the same time . My 3.5 liter Vue has 152 km and all said parts are original . Does anyone have an idea of the cost to have this job done in the Toronto area .

That sounds a little premature. You're at 94,448 miles - 5,500 shy of the 100k job. Are you 100% sure it's the water pump?

A dealer will be outrageous. Best of luck finding a garage who actually knows what they're doing. Keep us updated.

I just had my timing belt/water pump/plugs done on my Vue at a GM dealer and I only had 93K. It was about $1200. Better safe than sorry.

The 100,000 number for 3.5 timing belt service is not set in stone.

Depending on where you live (climate-wise), and what you do with the Vue (tow), you could be a candidate to change timing belt at 50,000 miles.

Its short-sighted to expect the 100K number to apply to all Vue's.
