Saturn Ion 2004
My saturn 2004 Ion is getting bad gas mileage. Air filter spark plugs replaced. I'm told the thermostat and ECTS sensor need to be replaced because it's sending wrong signals to the computer Can you help if this is true or what the real cause is. The car has 49,500 on it and used to get 300 plus miles on a tank, now I get 200. something is wron. the car runs good but? Thnak-you

Did you put Bosch platinum plugs in? You should not.
Do you have any codes? Are your tires properly inflated? Are your brakes dragging? ... 2005 ION 2 5 spd 148,548 miles 2001 SL1 Auto 277,252 miles 1997 Sl1 Auto 140,266 miles

AC Delco Plugs
No Computer Lights Tires properly inflated Brakes are not dragging Car was getting great mileage after the plugs were changed around 42,000. It just started getting lower and lower gas mileage recently. Car starts and runs great but I'm going broke on gas local and hwy driving.

I agree.I guess a scan even if no lights are on it might give me a code as to what it is. I would like to find a mechanic who knows these cars. I live in NJ
