I am rebuilding my 2002 SL2, 1.9L DOHC and have a dilema. I purchased a Fel-Pro head gasket set and it has 8 o-rings in it. The problem is that I have no idea where they go. Any help??? I have looked at the manuals and not found any help.

I got O rings as well with the set I bought. Didn't use them but I was thinking they were for a couple bolts on the timing chain cover. Or maybe the water pump, they were in the same bag as the WP gasket.

One of the guys at work thought maybe two for each of four fuel injectors? What do you think?

Why would they put injector o-rings, which you'd have no reason to touch, in with a head gasket? They may as well put a new set of lug nuts in the kit; they're about the same relevance.

I got the Fel-Pro head gasket kit (~$90) for the SOHC engine, my car is 2001 SC1
i have the same o rings, all same size, 4 of the 8 match the ones where the injectors go in the fuel rail, but the ones that go where the injector goes into intake manifold are little thinner; seem to be same OD but i don't think will even fit... I think I had the same issue with the fel-pro head gasket kit when I had to partially rebuild my sister's '99 VW Golf with a similar-ish engine. rather than make a fuss, I went to the parts store (auto-zone) and just got the injector o-rings alone, and they were right. This time for my Saturn they didn't sell them alone... either have look again tomorrow, or to use old ones.... ... 2001 Silver SC1, from craigslist in Clifton, NJ 2011/01/21, with 70k miles, $3K, 27 normal (winter 25 mpg) / 37-40 highway (just have to watch oil a bit... seems to be 3/4 qt in 1000 miles, )
