Is the car still under warranty from the dealer? If so then return it for repairs if it just occurred.

Are there any aftermarket electronics added that may cause this problem? Non-factory radio installed with possible miswiring?

The instrument panel is driven by the body control module (BCM). If the i/p was removed for bulb replacement, incorrect seating can create issues. Other than that, pulling two bcm fuses may allow a reset and restore i/p function.

I thought alarm systems seemed to be the biggest offenders.
