There is no actual "cup holder" in the door. What people are saying is the storage bin in the door is large enough you could place a bottle of water in it, thus it could be a "cup holder".

Ok for the person who wanted the "cup holders" in the doors. The 5 door only has these in the front 2 doors. the bins in the back do not have a spot designated for a beverage. As you can see its only big enough for a bottle of water or similar, or like I like to use them for also, gum containers lol
And yes I know the car is a state. I havent had a chance to clean it inside yet since winter.Drivers door: (no you dont have to squeeze the water bottle down either. A small bottle will. A 20oz Pepsi (Coke sucks) won't, but a 16oz should. It is the perfect size for a can. Feel around in there, it was clearly designed to hold a short cylindrical item.

That rear cup holder is a pain because it tends to pick up any sand and grime and carry it directly to every surface that makes contact, making it a pain in the ass to push in.

Gotta love this forum.
The cup holder in between the front seats is set too far back to be conveniently reached by the front seat occupants. My .02 USD. Mark

Try putting a 20 or 24oz cup of coffee in those door "cup holders". Then try to take them in and out as you drive and drink that coffee.

![]() The rear cupholders between the seat do hold a closed yoohoo bottle. The cupholders work great for transporting beverages from the drive thru to a destination. The "cup holders" in the door panels aren't intended for open-top containers, but for unopened cans and resealable containers like water bottles, etc. I use mine to store one of those containers of gun with the flip-top lid. Most manufacturers actually emboss a "cups=no, bottles=yes" next to them as a reminder. This isn't unique to the Astra.

I find it funny that the 3 door has 7 cup holders, the rear has 2 in the middle and 2 on the sides while the front has the 2 in the doors and the middle one.
