Default The rubber thing the keys bump into!

We have a 2008 Outlook, and my wife (who drives it) really likes it (and I am fond of it as well). It's a little wide, so there are some minor scrapes on the passenger side, but otherwise looks good as new.

Except one thing: I swear when we bought it, there was a hard rubber bumper just below the key hole on the steering column that was like a pad for the keys that weren't in the ignition to hit into.

Now, there isn't one there. I think it's missing.

But for the life of me, I can't tell what the part number is on the online catalogs. I can't describe it better than I did. If you sit in your car, you will notice it. And you'd notice if it's gone.

Ours is gone, and I noticed it.

Any ideas?

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

I too was originaly missing that piece. I don't have the part number although you have to purchase the whole section of the stearing wheel cover. You are not able to just get the rubber piece. It is about a quarter of the bottom cover of the stearing colum. Hope this helps just contact the part dept at your gm dealer.

Cool Re: The rubber thing the keys bump into!

If not covered under warranty, I would be visiting 'auto wreckers' and compile a list of what models/colour they have in stock, . . . which one of these days i got to peruse myself for future acquistions as necessary (or possible due to colour) !

I'm sure that chunk of plastic (?) with rubber bumper attached is worth a few bucks thru the dealership ?!
