I went in for my first oil change to my GM dealer with my Astra. No problems, infact they indicated there was a recall they would update on the car. I was very impressed with the service I received, service guy gave me his card if I had any questions or concerns. For the first time, I had a check list on my passenger seat indicating what fluids had been filled up...etc etc. The dealer (Birchwood Motors- lost there Pontiac dealership) has just taken all Saturn customers as well as buying the local Chevy dealer, so they are now servicing Chevy, Buick, GMC, Pontiac and Saturn. Hopefully this service will continue in the future....and I think it will.

I took mine to a Cadillac dealer, they never batted an eye.
When I pulled up, I basically said something to the effect of "well with Saturn being shut down, I am looking for alternatives". His reply "we'll be here". ![]() ... "Does anybody care what this guy thinks!" - Homer Simpson

I understand it is going to be Pointe West Truck Centre....and yes, it is not Saturn any longer. Not sure what happened to the staff, hopefully they are doing O.K..

Thank you. I'll pass that info on to my mother if she requires warranty service on her '07 Ion3.

Funny I've had nothing but problems with that Saturn there and the GM dealership next to them. They refused to replace my squeaky brakes that they couldn't hear, but everyone else can. Highly recommend everyone stay away from these dealerships due to very poor after sales service from the shop and salesperson. Been to the repair shop 7 times with the van and have been kicking myself for buying it.

As for service, I was never totally satisfied at Saturn of Pointe West. However, my sister with her Sunfire and G5, has been very happy with Birchwood's service.

I was optimistic for a while but I just got the stereotypical treatment from my (new) Chev dealer. Tried to charge me for warranty work (steering shaft clunk), tried to screw me on the brakes (see Brakes Again ! thread), didn't really do a job (squeaky driver seat, still squeaks!) and tried to screw me on the bill (charged twice for time and charged for an imaginary job). Overall, very impressive in just one visit ! If anybody wants to know about this dealership (Ottawa region), private mail me.
If GM hopes to survive, the company and its partners/dealers have to show minimum willingness to serve their existing consumer base. Do the work properly, try to do it under warranty whenever possible, go the extra mile and try to get a smiling customer out the door ! Jeez !

Any word on the Opel deal? I heard on the radio that GM was suppose to make a final decision today. If they (GM) screw this up (which they may)...I will never buy a new GM...ever. If Stronick gets it, I sure hope he brings Opel to Canada at some time.
On another note....is Buick going to be selling the Astra at some time?

It's Demers in Gatineau. Ultimately, they got the creaking seat right on the second attempt and caught a leaking windshield washer reservoir (falls apart after 45K ? How does that happen ?). Still, it took two trips and they irritated me mightily the first time with undue charges, confused billing, etc.
Also, got me wondering if that fairly high number of reportable trips for GM on TrueDelta is not largely due to minor problems requiring two trips or more to resolve (radio 3 times, dashboard 3 times, seat twice).
