Default P0410

I got a check enigne light on so i took it to AutoZone to have it checked out the code came back P0410 secondary air intake????? can anyone tell me what the heck this is and how to fix this problem. my car seems to be running fine. Thanks

It is the secondary air injection system. Located at the RF corner of the engine compartment and at the AC compressor with lines/hoses going to the exhaust manifold.

Check the vacuum line to it. The wiring, solenoid and if the pipe to the exhaust is clogged.

is there any long term effects if i dont get it fixed. I plan on fixing it but need to wait for some $$$ to come in

It just gets more clogged up with carbon. In most cases all that is wrong with it is that the pipe into the manifold and teh channel on the back side of the manifold is full of carbon. Cheap fix, just dirty.

You can take it apart and clan out the carbon for nothing but time.

well i tried it just now and noticed that the bolt that connects onto the manifold only turn out so far then it got stuck then the stud started to turn so i started to tighten in back up and worry worry about it later. i only got so far and i started to round the nut. so i stop were i was at. Im gonna get a deep socket tomorrow from work and do it.
