Default engine knocks at startup

My engine knocks at startup for about 20 seconds and then goes away.. Is that a sign that my engine is going??? Or what can I do to fix this problem...?

My 1991 SC2 has 256,000 miles on it and does the same thing. Keep the oil changed and it solves the problem.

my mini has a similar problem. It is probably a lack of oil as stated above.
