1999 SC2
Mad Having problems after a rebuilt trans.

Hey folks-

Info:
1999 SC2 74,000 Auto trans

I had a code come up for the first gear in my trans being bad (I don't remember it now). I had a rebuilt trans put in because of cost and the age of the car. Now, my car vibrates and runs rough while in gear at idle. It ran great before this.

I am bringing it back to the trans place to have them take a look at it. any ideas what the problem is so I can tell them specific things to look for?

Thanks....Mike

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Is the idle high? Who installed it, and are the mounts bad?

Definately have them double check all the engine and transmission mounts.
Change ECTS if it's plastic, you never know it may have failed.

They did charge me for a mounting bracket too. Idle isn't high, just rough. I brought it back the next day and they put up on the lift. I thought it sounded at first like the exhaust system was touching the frame. But, It wasn't.

I left thinking maybe it just needed to wear itself in.... I never had trans work on any of my cars before this....except a clutch on a manual trans. This is a auto trans.

Please let me know what else I can point the problem at...

Thanks, Mike

Hard to say, let them do what they do, but if they say something seperate is bad, go look at it so you can make sure its really bad.... You don't want something they did to cost you. Be a dick about it.

Is there something possible that they didn't do right between the trans and engine?

Are there any vacuum system lines on these cars? It's almost like the old cars when a vacuum line was disconnected.
