2009 Outlook XR
Default Delivery of 2009 Outlook

After two long months of waiting, my 2009 Outlook is finally here. Took delivery this past Thursday evening. Vehicle is:

2009 Outlook XR FWD
White Diamond Tricoat, Tan Leather
Convenience Package (includes rear view mirror back-up camera)
Bose Stereo
Touring Package (20" wheels)
Sunroof and skylight
HID Headlamps

Dealer installed pinstripe, splash guards and chrome side steps

Everything is great thus far. I’ve driven it about 300 miles including a 240 mile trip this past weekend. Some initial observations:

* This is one big SUV. After spending some time in it, I'm very impressed at how much room is inside. After spending some time parking it, including inside my garage, I've gained respect for it's overall mass.
* It is amazingly quiet and smooth. The engine is very quiet when inside. I'm Thoroughly impressed at how effortlessly the Outlook glides along when you take your foot off the accelerator. If feels like it could coast along for ever. I'm sure that taking advantage of this when coasting up to lights, etc. will help mileage tremendously.
* The 20" Touring wheels look much better in person than in pix, IMHO. They really fill the wheel wells nicely and look great.
* The few extra HP from the DI engine and latest version of the transmission programming seem to work together to fix the earlier shifting issues. No problems going up hills or passing. It downshifted when needed and supplied ample power for the job.
* I opted for the upgraded Bose stereo. Sounds great, but no mention of Bose on the unit or speakers. No "Bose" badging at all. When paying for a premium name... ?

Initial impression is VERY positive. Delivery experience at Saturn was excellent. So far, so good. A few pix:
