I used JB Weld smeared into carbon cloth.
I saved a bunch of the backer peel paper from UPS labels. Lay the fiberglass cloth on the slipery paper (or even a paper plate) and use a plastic bondo spreader to force JB Weld into it. Not quite the way NASA would do it, but close
