Default Warm air performance?

Been chasing a stutter/hesitation problem when my car is up to temperature. While replacing the radiator (plastic cracked) today I noticed that the clamp at the throttle body inlet end of the tubing was not tight. It was in the open locked position. Probably too easy a fix but took it for a spin and it seriously seemed to run a little better!! At least in my mind and I know it sure as heck wasn't the new radiator making it run any better. My question is this: Since I only was noticing the problem when the car was hot is there a chance it was sucking hot engine air into the throttle body inlet and would that cause any issues?
