That sensor looks like any other part stuck in the exhaust stream, enduring high temperature heat. There's one way to measure sensor output, crudely; a propane torch and multimeter measuring the output voltage between 0.1-0.9 vdc as the tip is heated and cooled. YouTube videos available for show and tell for a general test.
