Default Re: MAP sensor question

2-BAR/3-BAR MAPs will not properly operate on a naturally-aspirated engine. Naturally aspirated engines ALWAYS operate with negative manifold pressure. Race engines and street engines are the same in this respect, because it is the physical characteristics of how an internal combustion engine operates. 2-BAR/3-BAR MAP sensors are calibrated for positive pressure(boost).

The only way to achieve boost on a naturally aspirated engine is using a RAM AIR induction system and achieving a speed above 100mph. Even then, the amount of boost is only about 0.16psi. And this "boost" can be handled safely, by a 1-BAR MAP sensor, as they are calibrated to about 1.5-BAR.
