Fixed it. Bought new switch (NS-386) $4.09 at Go-parts.com. Shipping was $14.14. Marked location with a black marker.
Turned the old switch 1/4 turn left and it popped right out. Unplugged the wiring and plugged in the new, inserted it in the bracket to the mark and gave it a quarter turn right. Now have to install the shield with the 3 push pins.
