Default Re: Mechanic recommendation for '03 Vue in Orange County CA

Most GM and repair shops know their way around most vehicles but there are the exceptions that don't have a clue knowing the gas cap from coolant cap...... The trick is knowing which ones to stay away from. If your patience is worn out from your local GM dealer, perhaps it's time to try another dealer. Good repair shops are known by word of mouth and speaking to the shop or mechanic may give a clue about trusting repairs to a new place. Maybe a shop (non dealer) will put your Vue on a lift for an initial inspection and give it a quick look then invite you to see what they see. Every repair shop has insurance regulations prohibiting customers into service bays especially under a vehicle lifted above the ground so the exceptions depends on each shop to bend the rules of they want customers to see what they see. Good shops will invite the vehicle owner to look at their vehicle on a lift if they feel comfortable with safety in mind.
