2005 VUE 3.5L
Default 2005 Vue FWD 6 cyl ABS problem

I recently purchase a FWD 2005 Vue with ABS brake.
On dry pavement, the vehicle brake perfectly, unless you have to lock the wheels for an emergency.
On ice or snow, when you try to brake, the ABS on the front wheels engaged much too fast and does not seems to do its job, making a funny grinding noise and making the vehicle hard to stop..
When you release the brake pedal, for about 1 second, you can still hear the ABS trying to do its job.
Any indication about what should I look for?
ABS Brake sensors or ABS brake module, or else???
Thanks.
