Others have installed the flexplate backwards,the starter drive can't reach the teeth on flywheel mounted away from engine block.

You should bump the assembly firmly into the opening ,this should allow the tapered stem to grip enough for the nut to be tightened .

The mounting bolts have a sealer in the threads when new ,this prevents them from making a solid ground connection to trans bell ,my repair manual says ...you must buy new bolts when changing...

To check the input shaft ,and output shaft nuts ,it will be necessary to remove the end cover ,behind the driver side front wheel .
Many have done this ,but be careful not to bend the long tubes...

Well then ,you can skip over that ole planet /sun gear thing ,because the Saturn auto. actually has real gears,very simular to the stick(in mesh)rolling.
