Re: Window stopped working
Well thanks for all the replies guys. I have no idea what happened. I pulled all the fuses and the relay and they were all clean and not blown. I put everything back together and just left it for the...

Window stopped working
99 SC1
This morning, my power windows worked. This afternoon, only the passenger window works. My car had some dew on it this morning and I rolled down the windows to clear it off. The windows...

Re: 38 Mpg!!!
Oh no, I know how to calculate MPG. Heck, it's probably how I learned division. Ever since I can remember, my dad has been teaching me the ways of cars and garages so he knew too. He just couldn't...

Re: 38 Mpg!!!
Driving back and forth to high school, I was consistently at or above 40 mpg. Once I even hit 45.3. When my dad drove my car a few months ago from Northwest WI to Detroit, MI, he was amazed. When he...

Re: Which S-car to keep
I say keep the SC1 but I own a 99 SC1 so maybe I'm a little bit biased. ;)
But honestly, the 99 SC1 has fewer miles which means you could get that many more years out of it before you hit 300k....

Re: Oil drain holes in pistons
Thanks for the replies on prices. That's pretty nice that a rebuild like that is "only" (depending on how you look at it) around $600 give or take. I wouldn't even want to see the bill if you had to...

Re: Oil drain holes in pistons
So what's the estimated cost on this? How many (if any) special tools are required? I have about 170k on my 99 SC1 and I add about 10k per year. It burns around 1 qt (give or take 0.5 qt) between oil...

Re: Saturn Confessional
Oh that reminds me. I've actually done 2 similar to that.
1- Drained oil, installed plug, filled oil... forgot to change filter.
2- Drained oil, removed filter, installed new filter, filled oil......

Re: Custom WAI vs Stock?
I bought a CAI or WAI whatever you might call it on eBay a few years ago with a K&N air filter. The filter is right in front of the battery so I believe it falls under CAI but I won't argue. I like...

Re: Saturn Confessional
Oh man don't even get me started... I've been working on things for as long as I can remember so I have had my fair share of screw ups and I'm sure I don't even remember the half of them.
We had...

Re: How many accidents have you been in?
Driving almost 4 years now.
2 accidents, 1 deer, 1 tree
The only one that was my fault was the tree.
All but 1 of the accidents has been in my Saturn and it still has the original bumper, license...

Re: Missing part from compressor
The A/C is blowing cold air. :D I did screw up a little bit though. Somehow, I didn't get a tight seal at the expansion valve and there was a leak. So I ended up having to pay a little extra for...

Re: Missing part from compressor
My mistake. The old compressor is listed as 150 mL. The dehydrator had none in it so I should be good to go on oil. Old compressor - drained 50 mL. New compressor - filled with 50 mL. In theory, I...

Re: Missing part from compressor
Are they going to have some kind of spec sheet that will let them know how much oil to add (or not add)? I guess I'd just like to have an idea so that I can help them help me. Like I said before, I...

Re: Approaching 50 mpg. Share some thoughts?
If you want to save a little weight and they're not necessary, pull out your back seats. When I used to drive back and forth to school (22.5 miles each way) I once hit 45.3 mpg. My dad drove my car...

Re: Missing part from compressor
Well so far everything has gone smoothly. I have replaced the compressor, the serpentine belt, the expansion valve, and their respective O-rings. The only issue that I ran across was that the...
