Re: 2011 Aura

It's not all the weight. It's the tuning. In both the Regal and Lacrosse, the intent was for better power and performance all around, vs. trying to eek out the highest mpg numbers. Hence, no 33mpg by...

Re: 2011 Buick Astra?

Not happening. As with the Regal soon coming, a-la Opel Insignia, aside from a little more insulation and different tires, there is little to no difference in suspension tuning. Period.

The...

Re: OEM Inventory

There are always more parts than cars, and the parts are made by outside suppliers for the most part, and it's never been an issue with Oldsmobile as just an example. So many dealers now just do big...

Re: What is it about the Aura that calls to me?

No such thing. What it does have--and as is a feature in newer GM electronics sets--is a setting on the DIC that allows you to set a max speed (gives a few options) and then if you're ever going...

Re: What were they thinking!?

Personal opinions, ey?

Whether it be the extreme lack of dealers, marketing, or just the vehicle itself, the Outlook never did well, compared to its platform mates or otherwise, and it's not that...

Re: Replace front stuts

You do. Anytime something like the struts, springs, etc. are out and then re-installed, things get out of adjustment even if just a little and the car should always have the alignment...

Re: Hrm... Paddle shifter broke. Got mad punched steering wheel emblem. How to fix

Initially, all '07 and '08 XR's did and then for '09 every one with a 6-speed auto did...which was every Aura, 4-xcyl XE/XR or V6 XR.

As for the broken paddle, I had a friend who ordered a new...

Re: Rented '09 XE in D.C.

Precisely...which is why I said it is a 6-speed feature, and standard with that. I may not have been overly clear.

Otherwise, yes, the 4-speed base still exists without and is unrelated.

Re: 09 XE transmission hesitation

Yes, particularly of the V6/6-spd variety (I, of course, was one of them), something that I've still not seen discussed much around here. They're identical under the skin in every single way and...

Re: Considering an Aura

Everything mechanical. Identical platform, length, floor plan, powertrains, etc., etc. Different in regards to the body sheet metal, interior, and final tuning.

The Aura suspension is actually a...

Re: Rented '09 XE in D.C.

No. That's a 6-speed automatic feature, i.e. they come with it on Epsilon platform cars. The XR V6 with the 6-speed always had them, and then when the XE and XR 4-cyl's were given a 6-speed for...

Re: So long, Saturn

Welcome;)

I traded my 3.5 month old '09 Malibu 2LT V6 with 4k on it for a new '09 G8 GT both because I really wanted one and because the Malibu was having trans/engine issues that drove me nuts...

Re: 2008 Equinox

No, and it never had a 4-cyl. The Equinox since the '05 intro, on the Theta I platform shared with the first gen Vue, has never had anything but a 3.4L V6 and recently the 3.6L V6 on Sport models.

Re: Comments on 2009 Aura XR4?

Great choice!

We have an '08 Malibu 2LT 2.4L/4-spd, and after 13 months and 13k miles...it has been nearly flawless. Build quality, silence, 4-cyl performance and economy, all great, but the...

Re: Cash Back + APR Problem

The college discount is just supplier pricing. You can stack either rebates OR financing on top of that, but not both--nothing special, it's just that financing and rebates are not stackable. It's...

Re: Suzuki Kizashi - latest Epsilon variant

The real production model isn't as "wow", with stubbier proportions and such, but still should be an interesting car, as done by Suzuki...whenever it actually comes out:

Saturn Astra goes away for 2009...sort of

This has been wondered about for a while, as some things had actually been listed, but according to this just posted story...

Re: 09 XL versus 07 XR

Um, NO. Both the Aura and Malibu have had the exact same double-paned side glass since the 2007 & 2008 start and there has been no change there--both our '08 Malibu and '09 Malibu have the same...

Re: Is my car jynxed?

The same thing happened to an aunt after several years that were fine with a Buick. She always had a ruby red Century, and after being hit--I think--2 or 3 times in a short period, she got rid of it...

Re: 2nd xr for the family

Honestly, it's not the only one. Quite a few dealers, still, somehow have new 2007's continuing to linger around. From what I've seen, a lot have taken them and made them into demo's with a few...

Re: 2008 XR Trailer Package VIN ID

No vin difference, but it is listed on the service identification sticker inside the glove box. Either check there yourself or have the seller tell you if code V92 is there--that's towing.

I have yet to see this on the 'Bu, which also has 17" steel wheels with a fascia cap on 1LT and LS models, with the same tires as the Aura. Actually, it doesn't seem like people are having anywhere...

Re: 07 Outlook stalls for no reason

Yeah, with nothing ever having been modified, still clearly some kind of an electrical system or ignition issue. No car should stall out as such, period.

I've seen talk of similar issues here and...

Coming from someone who drives a god awful plastic, rattly can of a 1st gen Vue...thanks;)

Clearly, the demo you had was a well abused one...that is not indicative of the typical Aura a real...
