Re: Been a long time....

Welcome back.

I abandoned a car after long term storage due to mice and their accompanied Hanta virus.

Tell us the model number of your springs, shocks, and struts. Valuable information around...

Re: TPMS Relearn

I had some Dorman units replace my dead ones when I replaced my tires last year. There was no relearn process at all, they just started working.

I tested by letting half the air out of each tire...

Re: Radio locked

When searching around more here on the forum, you'll find that the existing head unit and display above are of course linked and will not work without being so paired. I'm saying this really for...

Re: What car would you buy after Astra?

Remember when stereo went away and 5.1 and 7.1 and 11 and 1/2.1 systems became the vogue? Right up there with 3D plasma screens? Well, I stayed stuck on stereo (2.0) and bought all of the MacIntosh...

Re: What car would you buy after Astra?

Mazda 3 if I buy another hatchback. Mazda 6 if I decide to get a sedan. I don't like SUVs, when they flip the front part of the passenger cabin is always resting on the headrest. I don't want my head...

Re: Connectivity Update (Bluetooth, Dash Cams, and Recent DIC Systems)

So if these links above disappear, I'm noting an item I've purchased has dropped $34 since my purchase 2-3 days ago at Best Buy. This is after falling from $229 to $160 in the two weeks prior. More...

Re: Oil seeping from valve cover gasket

I had some oil getting onto the exhaust manifold three months ago.

As part of my determined effort to drive this car for another 80-100K, last year I thought I'd spend $3K or so and go through...

Connectivity Update (Bluetooth, Dash Cams, and Recent DIC Systems)

It has been years since others have posted about their Eonon and Parrot system fixes to break into the the audio and CAN bus systems. Probably a lot of us have been using something in your now vacant...

Re: The last Saturn Astra owner.

Holy Schamoly.

You said control arms, I thought tie rods and other components. Chemo meds throwing me off, and my wife won't let me have coffee to help wake me up, convinced it hastens cancer...

Kikastra,

This may not be exactly what you're looking for, but I seem to remember it will probably show you most of what you want.

These videos show a guy with his own shop in the UK doing work...

Re: GM stubby antenna swap instead of shark fin

We share the same antenna base as the Saturn Outlook SUV. It has a shorter antenna so it won't clip garage doors. You could use this and return the other. At least three of us here chose this instead...

Re: Front Struts and hardware availability issues

What do you mean by "short stabilizer"? Springs?

Some sites I was looking at for Koni packages have folded since I shared information about them. It looks like only those handling Eibach/Bilstein...

Re: 2008 Astra XR Cabin air filter?

First of all, welcome.

Yes, you guessed right about the location. Go slow and easy, the fasteners and pieces are fussy and delicate when not supported or in their places. There are more videos on...

Re: How To - Timing Belt Replacement

So much for my all out "Merican" approach.

I'll chalk it up to "chemo-brain" for not realizing that a world car's parts would be from everywhere. While OEM, here is a list of where everything I...

Re: Is the A-Pillar on the 3dr more slanted?

About three years ago, I moved into a town-home with a tandem garage. That means you park one in front of the other, not side by side. I told my wife the only way our marriage would survive is that...
