Congratulations...

I just re-did my wires with some spares I had, and the problem was fixed!

The only reason I didn't try sooner was the plug wires were only about 3 months old....I did check...

You are 1000% correct. I just didn't want the open/empty shelf look. Looks bad to me. Looks like you have a partial system, or unfinished. It just seemed like the double din should fit. If not...

According to Crutchfield, only the normal Single Din units will fit, with an adapter of course. Even the Din and a half units don't fit according to CrutchField.

Doesn't seem...

Search where? I have searched.... I have seen the factory unit refered to as as double din.... I know it's bigger than a single din, and the salesman refered to it as a din and a half....

Ok, good(for me) was bad for you. I was thinking the same thing... Obstruction should mean higher RMPs would be worse! does make perfect sense.

Really, why stick with the 92-95? I replaced my 95 with a 98. I just reused my sensors, PCM, Fuel rail, injectors, EGR, etc...might have to tap a second temp sensor in the block....

I pulled the connector for the EGR and made my normal trip into work(mixed winding country road and highway) about 25 miles..... After the car warmed up I still had the problem. I stopped...

Ok on the "dirty" intake. The EGR is from my original 95 engine, but I replaced it about a month before the engine swap(Previous EGR was causing car to stall during de-aceleration). ...

I was thinking about this..... I wasn't sure whether this was intended to clean the intake maifold, or the piston/rings.

I was quite suprised/shocked by the amount of junk/goop inside the intake...

I'll check the resistance, and double check the coilpacks(for corrision). I have a spare set of plug wires, so I can try them too.

I know that my plugs do seal well, I did check this.

Hmmm.

Well, the engine(Orig 95 SC2) was just replaced with a used one(98 SC2 with 31k miles). I have put about 4k miles and so far not using oil that can be measured(I cheack at every fill-up....

Well....

The problem came back and seems to be staying. So I replaced the TPS and the MAP. Niether seemed to fix the problem. I also took the oportunity to clean the throttle body.

My car is doing the same thing. Jerky acceleration between 1200 and 1800 RPMs for me. Above this and all is fine. In my case if I floor it(or push to hard, giving too much gas) at 3rd-5th gear...
