Re: oil drain bolt keeps spinning, will not come off.

pulley is off, that's just the start of the fun! the bolts holding the drain pan on are a PITE (pain in the eye, due to stuff falling on you) and are quite awkward. Loosen the passenger dog bone...

Re: Any idea to improve the front suspension?

control arms and tie rods help a lot, i've replaced those, but not my struts, and handling was immediately improved. a proper alignment can be tricky to find done right, saturn has a particular spec.

Re: 414,220. Retired

sounds like a saturn fan! one dies, another ready to step up and take its place. Good on you, I hope to do similar, though I don't think I'll find any sub 100k kms cars around here rust free.

Re: How much damage will overfilling cause

As a side note, the oil pan is mostly perpendicular to the long axis of the car, and the dipstick comes down pretty close to the centre line of the short axis. All this means that whether your car is...

Re: Best speaker and size

no no, what you need are baffles. These are little foam pockets that you install around the speakers and they make the sound, especially bass, incredibly more defined. like these:...

Re: Top Tier Gasoline Benefits

to be fair, I think the Saturns are more like the malnourished/super skinny person with absolutely no muscles. Overweight? not my car... I either run out of gears or horsepower

Re: How/should I replace condenser in 98 Saturn SL2??

pretty sure someone will suggest this too, in more detail, but: you probably need to make sure high and low sides are correct pressures at a high idle (2k rpm). Condenser clogged sounds reasonable,...

Re: Engine Swap Blues

not sure about the fuse blowing, but your fuel float definitely should read a changing resistance with movement of the float (unless this is some kind of fancy electronics in the gas tank...). What...

Re: Hated to do it.. But it's done

Re: Brake Guard

It's just the dust-shield, it is not a critical part, though it does keep dust/water/dirt away from brake parts, which is nice. Your brakes go spinning round and round at 1000's of rpms through all...

Re: Am I pushing my Saturn too hard?

I do a twice-weekly trip of ~4 hrs at 110 kph (around 75 mph?) sometimes up to 130 kph for passing, flow, etc. Oil consumption is pretty consistent, around half a liter round trip, engine temps never...
