1993 Saturn SC2, single owner, Boston $1000

I'm selling my 1993 Saturn SC2. It comes with an additional full-sized spare tire mounted to an OEM alloy wheel (in addition to the compact spare). I also have winter tires mounted to 4 additional...

Re: Turn signals solid on/off and not blinking

Just an update, but I replaced the flasher relay and it's working just fine. Unfortunately the 3rd party replacement from Advance Autoparts clicks faster than the stock one I had gotten so used to...

Re: Turn signals solid on/off and not blinking

Ok I pulled the fuse and replaced it with a new 7.5A fuse just in case. No effect. And actually now the lights don't come on at all any more.

I looked up how to replace the flasher relay and it...

Re: Turn signals solid on/off and not blinking

I just walked around the car and all 4 orange lights are on.

Turn signals solid on/off and not blinking

My turn signals suddenly no longer blink but just come on solid when I use the stalk to signal either left or right. Flipping the hazard switch turns all 4 lights on/off but does not cause them to...

Re: Can't get accessory belt tensioner to move?

Also, I need to replace the top motor mount. If I remove the motor mount I think I'll get more room in that area. Is it safe to put torque onto the engine with the mount supported from below only?

Re: Can't get accessory belt tensioner to move?

Any precautions I should take if I do cut the belt off? How much tension is it under? How much recoil should I expect?

I'm hoping I can break these 18 year old bolts loose.

Also will I really...

Re: Can't get accessory belt tensioner to move?

The tensioner is definitely seized. I took the wheel and splashshield off and tried moving it from below. The only thing I managed to do is round the nut a little. I'm thinking this is probably a...

Re: Can't get accessory belt tensioner to move?

We've got Zipcar around here so in a worst case scenario I can always use that. Probably cheaper than a 2nd car of my own since I only pay $25 a year for the membership and then whatever hours I use.

Re: Can't get accessory belt tensioner to move?

Ok I'm going to save this for the weekend because if I cut the belt and the tensioner is indeed seized I won't have a drivable car and right now it's still running. Maybe one more try with the wrench...

Re: Can't get accessory belt tensioner to move?

I think I'm not explaining it correctly in that case because I believe I was doing that.

From that diagram I believe the tensioner swings down and in a somewhat clockwise direction (almost to 7-8...

Can't get accessory belt tensioner to move?

I'm trying to change the accessory belt on my 93 SC2. I've done it several times before without any problems. This time no matter how hard I pull up/clockwise on the wrench I can't get the tensioner...

Wheel speed sensor bracket rivet?

The rivet holding my wheel speed sensor has snapped off yet again on my passenger rear wheel. This makes the 4th time one of these brackets has snapped off, twice on each side now. The last 3 times...

Re: Boston Saturn Owners, Where do you get you car serviced?

I had good experiences with the old Saturn of Norwood and heard that at least some of their Saturn mechanics went to the Saturn service center which was set-up across the street at the Central Buick...

Re: 1993 SC2 Trip Odometer working intermittently

What are the odds of shattering some of the plastic in the process of doing this? My 93 SC2 also has a dead odometer. The passenger side of the top trim piece already has broken where the screw is...

Re: List of open and closed dealerships

It appears Saturn of Medford, MA is headed to be York Kia of Medford. One of the links on their site redirects to that site with an identical street address.

Re: So how long does GM have to supply service parts?

Could you elaborate a bit on this? I've got my 93 SC2, which is still running very well but since it is so old I do anticipate some things eventually wearing out. I've been using parts from Autozone...

Re: Headlight Motor Actuator Gear Replacement

It may be too late, at least in terms of stripped gears, as I left the switch in the "down" position for a couple of hours until I realized that the motor was still trying to bring the lights down....

Re: Headlight Motor Actuator Gear Replacement

Has anyone installed this kit in their car? My headlights just froze in the up position following the spell of nasty weather we had here in Boston. I'm waiting to see what happens when things warm up...

Re: Is it problematic to drive with pulsing brakes?

I'm going to just dispose of the old rotors/pads as I'm not sure I'd want to go through the hassle of pulling the wheels & calipers off just to put on a set of potentially pulsing rotors. I'm hoping...

Re: Is it problematic to drive with pulsing brakes?

I just finished replacing my front rotors and pads with another set of Advanced Autoparts Wearever rotors and Wearever silver pads (same as I had on there before). I'm pleased to report that the...

Re: Installing Cruise Control in 93 SC2

Not correct. My 93 did not come with the appropriate SIR coil.

The PCM however was all set to handle cruise.
